Why are there no testimonials?

You may notice that many therapy websites feature client testimonials but you won’t find any here and there are important reasons for that choice.

As a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), I follow ethical guidelines that consider the use of client testimonials in therapy to be inappropriate. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy and publishing testimonials even with permission can compromise client privacy.  Additionally, for testimonials to comply with advertising standards, they must be verifiable, which would further risk breaching that confidentiality.

Every person’s therapy journey is unique and my work is tailored specifically to your individual needs. Your experience will be different from anyone else’s and therapy is always a collaborative process focused on you as an individual. Therefore we cannot generalise from one person’s experience to another.
