Psychotherapy
What is Psychotherapy?
I am trained in psychotherapy as well as counselling. We will work together as I support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Importantly, I can provide a safe, confidential space to better understand yourself, resolve emotional difficulties and develop healthier ways of coping. Rather than offering quick fixes, psychotherapy helps you uncover the deeper patterns and beliefs that influence how you feel and behave.
Through open conversation and guided exploration you gain insight into your past and present which can ultimately empower you to make meaningful changes for your future.
Psychotherapy and counselling may be beneficial for a wide range of concerns, including:
• Stress, anxiety, and depression
• Relationship challenges
• Trauma and loss
• Self-esteem and identity
• Life transitions and uncertainty
• Emotional regulation and resilience
There’s a common misconception that psychotherapy and counselling only focus on childhood experiences. However, in my practice I believe that therapy should be tailored to what feels right and helpful for you as an individual. While some people find that understanding their past and receiving validation helps them move forward, others might be dealing with challenges in their present life that aren’t necessarily connected to their childhood, for example, feeling stuck in a relationship or a job. Meanwhile, some come seeking support to clarify their future goals or explore deeper questions about meaning and purpose.
I am also a qualified hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy works very well in combination with psychotherapeutic techniques, as we can address the issues you face from multiple angles. Each therapy journey is unique. Therefore, together we will tailor the approach to suit your individual needs and preferences, supporting you at your own pace as you work toward healing and personal growth. If you’re curious or have questions about psychotherapy, please get in touch. I’m here to support you.
